Job description:

High-end interior design firm Martin Brudnizki Design Studio, specialising in hospitality and residential projects is seeking an ambitious and talented mid-level designer to work on a range of innovative projects.

Supporting the team seniors, associate and director, and working alongside the team designers, this person will be fully immersed at all levels of the design process and able to run their own projects. The position will offer significant responsibility to manage and coordinate the design and operational side of projects.

Experience and skills required:

The successful candidate must have four plus years experience in hospitality and residential design, be able to deliver neat, clear and accurate technical design information with ease, have experience of running jobs from large scale residential to hotels to restaurant roll-outs and clearly show a natural passion for design. The ability to engage in design development using confident hand drawing skills is highly desirable.

An extremely high-level of AutoCAD is a must and a proficiency in Photoshop and SketchUp is essential. Current UK building regulation knowledge as well as a comprehensive understanding of construction technology and a high level of joinery and detailing is imperative.

As he/she will be working within one of our design teams, a strong team player with good communication skills and the ability to coordinate, control and make decisions is required. A general all-rounder preferred. Overall the candidate needs to be a professional, who is driven, focused and able to contribute to a positive working environment.

Responsibilities to include the following:

  • running projects from concept to completion at all levels of design production
  • understanding the team’s project programmes and keeping those required up to date at all times
  • covering other team members’ responsibilities through holiday periods
  • mentoring junior members within the team
  • acting as a point of contact for the team’s interns
  • supporting the general well being of the team and its productivity
