London, UK
Architect/Part 2 architectural assistant
at NOOMA Studio

NOOMA Studio is recruiting an architect or Part 2 architectural assistant to join its team in London.

We are open to candidates at either level, depending on experience and fit.

About us

NOOMA Studio is an architecture and urban design practice working on sensitive regeneration, social housing, and public realm projects across London. Our work is anchored in a design for public good ethos and a co-creation methodology built around community wellbeing.

Recent projects include Fellows Court, 28 Passivhaus social rent homes in Hackney, granted planning permission in 2025; Leathermarket Gardens and Tyers Estate, a Pineapple Awards finalist in the Child Friendly Places category; and the Wilcox Road high street regeneration in Lambeth, highly commended at the AJ Small Projects Awards.

Alongside project work, the studio is engaged in regenerative social infrastructure research. We are currently developing a biomaterial community hall as part of an estate regeneration scheme for a local authority client.

The role

You will contribute to the design and delivery of multi-unit social housing and public realm projects, working across all RIBA stages from concept through to post-occupancy. You will engage directly with clients, stakeholders and community members through our co-design process.

The role is studio-based at our offices in Finsbury Park, London and is available on a full-time or part-time basis.

What we are looking for

We will consider candidates at either architect or Part 2 level, with requirements scaled to seniority.

At architect level, we are looking for someone with at least three years’ post-Part 3 experience and substantial experience designing and delivering multi-unit social housing schemes, with a track record of seeing projects through to site. Working knowledge of technical design up to RIBA Stage 4 is essential.

At Part 2 level, we are looking for someone with at least two years’ post-Part 2 experience, strong graphic and visual capabilities and a portfolio that shows a clear design voice. The ability to produce clear graphical reports and Design and Access Statements, with excellent drafting skills, is essential.

All applicants share three core requirements:

  • exceptional graphic and visual communication skills
  • strong written and verbal communication, with the ability to articulate design intent clearly to a range of audiences
  • the ability to manage your own workstream and contribute to wider project coordination, with fuller project management responsibility expected at architect level

Vectorworks proficiency is strongly preferred. Proficiency in Rhino and SketchUp is also preferred.

Equally important is the kind of person you are. NOOMA Studio is a practice where the work matters to the people doing it. We are looking for people who care about outcomes, who bring energy and judgement to the work itself and who want to grow with the practice as it develops.

What we offer:

  • salary in line with the RIBA salary benchmark, dependent on experience and capability
  • named project responsibility and direct exposure to the full RIBA cycle, from concept to post-occupancy
  • direct mentorship from the studio director, an ARB RIBA-registered architect and Brent Quality Review Panel member
  • involvement in our regenerative social infrastructure research alongside live project work
  • a studio environment where the work is taken seriously and individual contribution is visible
