Heyne Tillett Steel is an award-winning structural and civil engineering practice with a reputation for intelligent design and innovative, practical solutions. Based in central London and established in 2007 by directors Andy Heyne, Mark Tillett and Tom Steel, the practice now has over 180 people. We are currently work on exciting and innovative projects throughout the UK for many of the leading developers and architects.

Our marketing team currently comprises four full time staff and is jointly led by the marketing manager and head of bids and graphics, with additional strategic input from an external consultant and three of our practice directors. This structure has served us well over for many years, but we’re now ready to take the next step.
We’re looking for a senior marketing professional to lead and inspire the team. This new Head of Marketing will play a key role in shaping our business development strategy, driving targeted research, and encouraging proactive marketing efforts that support our ambitious growth plans.
Key responsibilities and activities:
- lead, support, and mentor the marketing team, ensuring a collaborative and high-performing environment
- work closely with the directors through monthly meetings to align on business development, events, and marketing activity
- review current business development efforts and develop a practice-wide BD strategy, working with directors to implement it effectively
- conduct strategic research into new and emerging sectors – including non-traditional and international markets – and develop actionable plans for engagement
- regularly assess the practice’s industry positioning and recommend strategies to enhance or evolve it
- collaborate with directors to review and shape the long-term marketing and business development strategy
- periodically review external communications and propose improvements to strengthen our brand and outreach
- identify and outline potential public relations opportunities that align with our strategic goals
- recommend new clients, architects, and consultants we should be engaging with to expand our network and pipeline
