Nichetto Studio has an opportunity for a senior and/or lead industrial designer to join its team in Stockholm, Sweden.

Nichetto Studio is looking for a seasoned senior and/or lead industrial designer to join our creative team in Stockholm, Sweden. In this role you will design brand-appropriate collections for some of the strongest brands in the industry, and will work with our design team to initiate and develop concepts that are driven and reflective of the studio’s creative vision and brand aesthetic.

Your responsibilities:

  • research and evaluate the competitive landscape
  • facilitate and participate in pre-design brainstorming sessions
  • collaborate with product development and design directors for briefings and reviews
  • evaluate the feasibility of design concepts relative to appearance, performance, safety, code compliance, installation ease, serviceability/maintenance, manufacturability, and cost/price objectives
  • prepare sketches, illustrations, renderings, and CAD drawings using computer-aided design equipment and programs
  • recommend appropriate materials, finishes, and colours
  • prepare client presentation documents
  • participate in client presentations
  • review prototypes and mock-ups
  • direct junior designers

Your experience includes:

  • BA/BS or MA/MSc in industrial design, product design, furniture design or related degree
  • minimum five (for Senior) to ten years (for Lead) of hands-on experiences in industrial design in the field of furniture design, interiors and/or lighting design experience preferred
  • solid technical proficiency (Rhino, KeyShot, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, etc.)
  • excellent understanding of materials, ergonomics and manufacturing processes
  • 3D printing and/or model-making experience
  • a proven track record of putting products on the market and leading projects and clients
  • curiosity and eagerness to learn about new technology, socio-cultural trends, and human behaviours
  • effective time management, communication, and teamwork skills
  • strong problem-solving and sketch visualisation skills
  • project management experience a plus
  • must be able to travel internationally
  • fluent in English. Knowledge of Italian, Swedish or any other language a plus
  • eligible to work in the EU preferred
