William Smalley RIBA is seeking a Part 2 architectural assistant to join its team in London.
We are seeking a Part 2 architectural assistant to join our central London studio of five people, to work on detailed design of architecturally ambitious private residential and commercial projects.
A good eye and attitude are the most important attributes. You will have an interest in the reality and materiality of architecture, and a naturally architectonic mind. Our studio is collaborative and its scale means that at any one time you will be working across several projects, which suits a flexible and calmly ordered mind. Our work and the scale of the studio should positively appeal to you: if you long to work for a big practice then you probably won’t want to work for us.
Applications are invited both from those who have newly completed their studies and those with experience in practice; in either case your student work will have had qualities that stood out, which will be reflected in your work in practice to date. We draft with Vectorworks, which we find is quickly picked up by an intelligent mind, so fluency is not essential.
Salary will reflect experience.
