Baca Architects is looking for a project architect to join its growing team in London.
Role: project architect ARB/RIBA with minimum of two years’ post-RIBA Part 3 qualification.
Our award winning, design and research led practice is offering the chance to get involved our unique work specialised in designing architecture in, on, near and under water. Our sister company is Waterstudion.NL. The scope of projects is broad; from flood resilient and amphibious individual homes to larger scale housing developments which make space for water. In the leisure and hospitality sector we are designing projects overseas, including first waterfront museum, luxury spas and boutique hotels.
We are seeking a confident project management led architect, who either has the existing experience or seeks to step into this role. Duties will include day-to-day project running, engagement with client’s face-to-face and project management of other team members. We offer flexible working arrangements to suit your life balance needs. Prior knowledge of Adobe Suite and Vectorworks is advantageous for concept design stages.
BIM experience is advantageous for RIBA Stage 4 onwards.
General skills:
- passionate about the built environment, people and place
- previous project coordinator/job running experience (minimum two years’)
- good communication skills
- good drawing skills with the ability to work in three dimensions
- inventive and imaginative
- good personal organisation, planning and timekeeping
- ability to work to deadlines
- enthusiasm and commitment
Core professional skills required:
- RIBA accredited qualifications or internationally recognised equivalent
- high proficiency in written and spoken English with the ability to write in a legal and contractual manner
- high proficiency with Adobe suite (Photoshop, InDesign, etc.) for preparing presentation material and report writing
- excellent proficiency in written and spoken English
- understanding of the building process, key stages and role of an architect
- ability to work as part of a team but as well as independently
- personal time management throughout the project and reporting to directors
- general understanding of the building process, key RIBA work stages and role of an architect and other team members
The position is open to UK-based applicants only, who have prior experience working in the architecture, engineering or construction industry. The candidate should demonstrate excellent technical capability, plus possess great interpersonal and communication skills.
