David Chipperfield Architects is hiring a finance director to join its team in London.

The practice’s major completed works include the masterplan for the Royal Academy of Arts in London, The Bryant tower in New York and the Museo Jumex in Mexico City.  David Chipperfield Architects has won more than 100 international awards and citations for design excellence, including the RIBA Stirling Prize and David Chipperfield himself has personally received numerous awards for his work in architecture since founding the practice in 1985.

As part of a continuous desire to improve our services David Chipperfield Architects has established a strong senior leadership team. The practice is now looking to appoint a finance director to this team, who will develop and direct the organisation’s financial strategy and finance function. The successful candidate will be responsible for the overall financial management of the London practice, including global project work, driving effective reporting and sustainable operational efficiency. They will be an exceptional business leader, with an appreciation of the commercial drivers inherent in the built environment sector: their sound technical expertise and commercial ability will be balanced by an inherent creativity and values driven leadership. The ability to operate as a key strategic business partner will be key and they must be able to apply their financial and strategic skills across an international footprint.  With high emotional intelligence and impactful leadership skills they will lead the finance function keeping close to the organisation’s values: sustainability, design, social equity and purpose, and diversity.

David Chipperfield Architects supports initiatives that promote diversity in architecture and has signed up to the RIBA Inclusion Charter and the BITC Race at Work Charter.
