The Metropolitan Museum of Art is the largest art museum in the US. The museum was established in 1870 in New York City. It comprises of three sites: The Met Fifth Avenue, The Met Breuer and The Met Cloisters. The museum is home to over 2 million works; its permanent collection is made up of art, sculptures and antiques from across the world, including rare and archived editions.
The Metropolitan Museum of Art joined with P.S 1 Contemporary Art Center in 2000, forming what is now known as MoMA PS1, the largest scale platform for contemporary art in the US and one of the biggest in the world.
