Interior designer
at A Work Of Substance
A Work of Substance is hiring an interior designer to join its team in Hong Kong.
Job description:
- performing all phases and the full scope of design work including planning, designing and overseeing the construction
- independently handling full sets of presentations with concept diagrams, mood boards, materials, perspective drawings and tender drawings to communicate design intents and outputs
- interpreting client briefs to develop initial ideas and acquiring key information about potential projects to produce conceptual output with the creative and design directors
- discussing requirements in detail with clients and setting project schedules with project managers
- conducting workshops with clients and consultants to ensure smooth project realisation
- researching and gathering information and photographs related to the project
- preparing detailed working drawings, designs, plans, models and schemes using computer-aided design softwares e.g: SketchUp, Rhino, CAD
- sourcing physical materials and providing samples to the clients
- supervising timeline and workflow at the design stage and quality control on-site
- collaborating clearly with project managers throughout the project life cycle
Requirements:
- degree holder or above in interior/architecture design or related majors from a recognised international school
- must have experience at a senior level working on interior design projects, preferably both F&B and hospitality projects
- good knowledge of full set drawings including tender, construction and details
- able to design, produce details and working drawings
- high level proficiency in AutoCAD is a must, good command of Adobe Suite and freehand sketches will be considered a definite advantage
- highly attentive to detail
- good time-management and project-juggling skills
- well-organised and reliable
- self-motivated, hard-working and willing to work overtime
- good command of English, Cantonese and/or Mandarin is a plus
