Adam Richards Architects is seeking a project architect to join its team in West Sussex, UK.

Adam Richards Architects (ARA) is an award-winning, design-led practice based near Petworth, West Sussex. We are a small, close-knit and growing team, expanding due to recent and ongoing commissions.

Specialising in arts, cultural, heritage, residential and education projects, our approach is to create crafted, contemporary buildings that are deeply rooted in their context.

The role

We are looking for a technically proficient project architect to join our team and work on a range of residential and cultural projects. The role offers the opportunity to take on increasing responsibility & lead projects, supported by senior colleagues.

This is an exciting opportunity for a talented architect who is passionate about high-quality design, sustainability & technical excellence.

Your skills:

• experienced architect (five plus years’ experience) with both technical and design sensibilities
• technically proficient – capable of leading technical packages & producing technical drawings, specifications and schedules
• experienced and confident in working with consultants, contractors and client-facing
• ideal experience – high-end residential, or education, arts and cultural project experience and experience with listed buildings
• proficiency in design software (e.g. Vectorworks and SketchUp)
• excellent communication skills and ability to show initiative
