Part 1/2 architectural assistant
at Architecture Initiative

Architecture Initiative is looking for Part 1/2 architectural assistants to join its team in London.

We are an award winning, design focused studio working across a range of residential, education and mixed-use projects in London and across the UK.

At Architecture Initiative we pride ourselves on our ability to provide innovative solutions to meet our client’s needs. We utilise a range of mediums to demonstrate our ideas in a clear and engaging way, adopting a strong graphic ‘house’ style which combines hand sketches, CGIs and models.

Our approach is to design intelligent buildings that complement their locality, respond to the needs of the community and stand the test of time. We believe that architecture shouldn’t just be about buildings but about place and fostering a sense of belonging.

We think differently and lead by example. Our projects inspire our staff and our stakeholders to look beyond the status quo, whether its schools in the sky or ground-breaking housing solutions. We welcome debate and enjoy working with clients and collaborators who share our vision for challenging conventions.

We have an array of exciting projects in our portfolio and this year we were awarded a RIBA Regional Award for Northampton International Academy; a huge new school in a re-purposed brutalist building. The current team is 22-strong, and we are seeking creative, passionate and enthusiastic individuals who will proactively get involved across the business on both projects and team activities, and demonstrate excellent initiative.

The successful candidate will be confident in their ability to offer a positive contribution to the studio and as a result gain experience across a wide range of residential and public sector education projects, across all scales and RIBA stages.

Essential skills required:

  • excellent design, technical skills and standards of presentation
  • strong written, verbal and presentation abilities (proficiency in English is a must)
  • excellent organisation and time management skills
  • an ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team
  • high proficiency with Photoshop, InDesign, SketchUp, MS Office and AutoCAD
  • professional Revit experience is essential (Part 2)
