Role description
Atelier Ochre is hiring an enthusiastic London-based architect or Part 2 architectural assistant to join our growing team.
This role is an excellent opportunity for a talented designer to become an important member of our team where you will have real autonomy and take a key defining role. We are currently looking for an architect with a good interior design eye who is skilled, hard-working and shares a passion for design who would like to join our small, friendly professional team.
Our ideal candidate will be London-based, have an excellent design portfolio, and have experience in completing a range of complex high-end residential (refurbishment, extension and new build) projects in the UK. We are looking for a person with an independent, progressive attitude who can think on their feet and design simultaneously.
This is for a full-time position with an imminent start date.
Eligibility to work in the UK, and fluent spoken and written English is essential.

We are a collaborative and experimental architecture and interior design practice which specialises in residential and hospitality projects in the UK and France. We are involved in all aspects of design, producing unique architectural schemes and inspiring interiors and working with artisans and specialists to deliver bespoke solutions.
We are an international practice between London and Paris and not office-based, we have regular internal, and external team and design meetings virtually and on-site.
We pride ourselves in creating a flexible working environment with family-friendly policies and flexible working hours.
Key responsibilities:
- regular client, contractor and consultant meetings to present and adapt design proposals
- detailing architectural elements
- embracing modern building techniques and off-site construction
- designing bespoke details and joinery
- 2D drawings for construction
- providing 3D details or elements to fully demonstrate complicated details and principles, whether pre-prepared or quickly sketched on site
- carry out concept, planning, tender and construction drawing packages
- carry out contract administrator role on building contract
- coordinate designs across the full project team of consultants
- quality control on information delivery and on-site delivery
- on-site management and delivery of projects
Skills and experience:
- professional qualification in architecture or architectural technology
- a minimum of two (Part 2) to three (Architect) years of experience working in high-end residential markets
- demonstrate taking projects from initial concept through to completion
- understanding of building regulations and British standards
- experience of the principal designer role and CDM Regulations 2015
- understanding of planning policy and working with listed buildings
- experience in contract administration (JCT Standard Building Contract)
- able to work across multiple projects and manage projects across stages
- creative individual with a keen interest in current trends in architecture and design as well as new innovative materials and specifications
- enjoys working in a dynamic, fast-paced team environment
- able to work independently and as part of a team or directly with the directors
- confident and good presentation skills both face to face as well as virtually
- a keen eye for detail and good knowledge of detail drawing design
Software:
- VectorWorks 2022 and above is essential
- Adobe Creative Cloud (namely indesign and photoshop)
- SketchUp
- Microsoft Office suite
