Atelier001 is hiring a gallery manager to join its team in London.
Atelier001 is seeking an experienced gallery manager with a wonderful personality. The suitable candidate will have solid experience in a gallery of a comparable nature and knowledge of the design/art-design collectible market and its clientele. Atelier001 has a lovely dedicated team and is seeking a candidate ready to seamlessly join in, benefit from a vibrant group of people and to celebrate its recent venture into a new chapter with our gallery space.
The ideal candidate is experienced in selling high-end designs or artworks, with outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, bringing passion and joy to our lovely space in Notting Hill. An established contact book of a suitable target audience is desired.
This role is a full-time position, on-site, Tuesday to Friday 9 to 6 and Saturday 10 to 4 – on occasion, the gallery manager will prepare and host events outside of hours. The gallery is based on Golborne Road, Notting Hill, London W10.
Responsibilities:
- represent Atelier001 professionally and elegantly, in person and in all communication
- proactively generate new business and foot traffic to the gallery in person and through outreach
- provide exceptional recording and follow-up on client contacts and enquiries
- process sales in person as well as compose and send quotations to prospective and new clients
- maintain meticulous records of client details, quotes, invoices and orders
- display a thorough understanding of Atelier001’s lighting pieces and commission pieces
- provide exceptional customer service
- manage the client’s needs in all communication from initial enquiries to delivery
- represent Atelier001 at events, fairs and exhibitions, this may involve international travel
- conduct outreach to potential clients and extend invitations to the gallery
- ensure the gallery is always in pristine condition for clients
- form and maintain relationships with the local community and related businesses
Professional profile:
- extensive experience in sales of art, design-art or high-value vintage furniture
- strong organisational and customer service skills
- excellent written and spoken English
- proficiency in Excel and Word; knowledge of InDesign
- minimum of five years’ experience in a comparative role
- a good understanding of the design-collectible market, high-end interiors and related networks
- passion for working in a small company with a big-picture perspective
- friendly, patient, dependable and responsible personality with excellent time management skills
- able to work independently and complete assignments with minimal direction
- flexibility, hands-on approach and a passion for design and humour!
Requirements:
- must be based in London with the right to work in the UK
- must be available to work in the Golborne Road gallery from Tuesday to Saturday
