Operations manager

Atelier001 is seeking an experienced operations manager to join its team in London.

Candidates are expected to have extensive experience in comparable manufacturing and luxury furniture, ideally also the lighting industry.

The key focus of this role is to act as the connection point between the sales team and external suppliers, to manage their workflow and to facilitate the effective delivery of orders. The role requires experience, confidence and close cost monitoring in collaboration with our external finance team.

While we operate as a small team, we collaborate with many outside service and product providers, preciously fostered over many years. We require a kind, effective and highly organised individual to lead all parties to the successful and consistent delivery of luxury products.

A minimum of five years’ experience in a comparable role is essential and knowledge of the lighting industry is a big advantage. The candidate will be working on-site, alongside our design and sampling studio. A passion for and a knowledge of manufacturing and its processes is essential. This is a full-time, on-site role in London, W10. Working hours are 9 am to 6 pm, Monday to Friday, with occasional duties outside of regular hours for events and exhibitions.

We do not offer hybrid working.

Knowledge and experience: 

  • understanding of luxury products and its clientele
  • understanding of the design, collectible or high-end furniture realm
  • knowledgeable about manufacturing processes and exceptional finishing
  • outstanding organisational skills
  • extensive logistics experience for simultaneous orders, shipping and time-sensitive deliveries
  • superb skills in Excel and Word to producing reports and schedules
  • budget management experience, competent in management of cost reporting
  • willingness to always promote and volunteer continued operational improvements

Candidate must have:

  • five plus years’ experience in a comparable role
  • ability to follow strict and short timelines
  • attention and patience for detail
  • passion and thorough understanding for luxury products and clients
  • experience and comprehension of working alongside a creative team
  • ability to produce technical drawings and knowledge of SolidWorks a plus
  • proactive, calm and problem-solving attitude
  • be the go-to person for various team members, able to coordinate and communicate well
  • be a shield for a variety of tasks for our creative director, facilitating and alleviating her of day to day management tasks

Requirements:

  • must be based in London with the right to work in the UK
  • impeccable spoken and written English, excellent phone manners and writing skills
