Role overview
We are seeking a talented and experienced senior interior designer to join our dynamic team and take full ownership of project delivery. In this role, you will lead communications with clients, direct the design process and ensure the successful execution of innovative hospitality interiors. You will work closely with both the main AVT studio and its sister agency, Nokken to bring concepts to life, while delivering high-quality design solutions for leading hotel projects.
Key responsibilities:
- lead the design process from concept to completion, ensuring that the vision aligns with client expectations and project goals
- oversee project delivery, managing all phases of the design, documentation and implementation
- lead communications with clients, maintaining strong relationships and acting as the primary point of contact throughout the project lifecycle
- develop brand and story-led design concepts, presentations and technical drawings to clearly communicate design intent
- direct and mentor junior and middleweight designers, providing guidance and ensuring cohesive teamwork
- prepare detailed CAD drawings, 3D models and FF&E specifications while ensuring all design documentation is accurate and up to date
- manage supplier, contractor and stakeholder relationships to ensure smooth project delivery, from sourcing to installation
- conduct regular site visits to oversee design implementation and ensure quality and precision are maintained
- stay informed on the latest trends, materials and technology in the design industry to keep our projects at the forefront of innovation
- manage project budgets, timelines and resources effectively to meet client expectations and company standards
Key requirements:
- bachelor’s degree in interior design or a related field
- six to ten years of professional experience in interior design, with a focus on hospitality or hotel projects
- proven track record of delivering large-scale hotel or hospitality design projects from concept through completion
- strong leadership skills with the ability to guide, inspire and manage a design team
- expertise in AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite and other relevant design software
- experience with 3D visualisation tools and rendering software is a plus
- excellent client-facing communication skills, with a focus on relationship building and problem-solving
- strong organisational and multitasking abilities, with a keen attention to detail
- a creative, strategic mindset with the ability to think innovatively and execute complex design concepts
- a portfolio demonstrating experience in delivering high-end hospitality or hotel projects
