Ayre Chamberlain Gaunt is seeking a part-time studio manager to join its team in Basingstoke, UK.

Ayre Chamberlain Gaunt is an award-winning progressive and creative architectural studio based in Basingstoke and London, with a breadth of experience across many sectors and building types.

We are seeking a proactive and highly organised studio manager to oversee the smooth running of our Basingstoke studio, providing administrative support to all areas of our business and executive support to our five directors.

Who are we looking for? The right candidate will be able to demonstrate:

  • success in managing office and administrative processes effectively at a senior level
  • previous experience of HR administration and can demonstrate you have the tact, discretion and diplomacy needed in such a role
  • be a competent, if not advanced, user of Microsoft 365 Office packages and some experience of using iMacs and InDesign packages would be useful but not essential, training will be provided
  • a customer focus and commitment to delivering excellent service
  • the ability to effectively resolve problems, be proactive and use your initiative to identify and deliver support required rather than waiting to be asked – a ‘how can I help?’ approach
  • you can take on issues and own them, seeing through to appropriate and quick resolution
  • previous success in achieving process improvement and efficiency
  • you are a strong team player and highly reliable
  • you’ll be an excellent communicator, a good listener who makes sure you understand the brief
  • you’ll be comfortable communicating with everyone from entry-level to director level
  • you’ll be flexible and adaptable to meet the challenges of the business, you’ll willingly take on tasks as required
  • excellent interpersonal skills with a friendly and professional manner and attitude
  • a commercial awareness and understanding of business expectations, which leads to excellent results
  • a desire to embrace new challenges and gain personal development

What can we offer you?

  • part-time hours to be agreed, approximately 25 hours per week to be worked across five days Monday to Friday
  • salary range of £32,000 to £38,000 FTE (pro-rata) depending on experience
  • flexible working arrangements after the initial induction period. The nature of the role requires that you spend the majority of time in the studio, but some hours can be worked from home when it suits the task
  • 28 days holiday inclusive of bank holidays (pro rata) plus up to three days additional paid leave at Christmas. Holiday rises to 31 and 33 days after three and five years
  • private healthcare after two years, pension, employee referral bonus
  • training – previous knowledge is great but if not, we’ll bring you up to speed and support you to develop
