The role in focus involves client-facing account management and new business development, emphasising the cultivation and management of client relationships. As a pivotal liaison between clients and our design team, this position is responsible for streamlining project processes and ensuring seamless handover to the team.
Job role
As the new business manager for our hospitality design and related services, you will be entrusted with the task of identifying, cultivating and securing new business opportunities. Your knack for blending sales acumen with an understanding of design and branding will be instrumental in propelling our agency’s growth.
Key responsibilities:
- business development: identify, target and secure new clients within the hospitality sector seeking our interior design and branding services
- market research: keep a finger on the pulse of the hospitality industry, identifying emerging trends and potential growth areas
- networking: represent the agency at industry events, workshops and conferences, establishing a network of potential clients and partners
- proposal development: collaborate with our design and branding teams to create compelling proposals tailored to prospective clients’ specific needs
- client relationship management: nurture relationships with both potential and existing clients, ensuring their needs are continually met and exploring opportunities for upselling or cross-selling services
- collaborative strategy: work closely with senior leadership to refine the agency’s sales and marketing strategy, ensuring alignment with broader business goals
- reporting: regularly provide updates on sales targets, client feedback and market trends to the executive team
- handover briefing notes: take clear and concise notes and ensure a fluid transition from initial client meeting to the design team take over
Qualifications:
- minimum of three years’ experience in business development, preferably within the design, branding or hospitality sectors
- a demonstrable track record of securing new business opportunities and meeting sales targets
- strong understanding of the hospitality industry, interior design and brand identity
- exceptional communication, negotiation and presentation skills
- proficiency in CRM tools and software
- passion for design and branding with a results-driven mindset
