Role overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and visionary head of design to lead and inspire our talented design team. This role requires an experienced design leader with a passion for creative excellence, a deep understanding of luxury interiors and a strong background in high-end hospitality design. The ideal candidate will bring fresh, innovative ideas to the table.
As head of design, you will set the creative tone for the company, shape the direction of our projects and mentor a talented team, ensuring that all design outputs align with the brand’s sophisticated style and uphold the highest standards of quality.
This is a pivotal position, requiring close collaboration with senior management and clients, and driving the business to new heights while preserving B.A.H’s reputation for exceptional, high-end designs. We are looking for a strong leader and visionary with proven experience in high-end hospitality who can guide the company toward an exciting new creative direction.
Key responsibilities
Leadership and management:
- lead, inspire and manage the design team
- oversee the entire design process from concept through to completion, ensuring high-quality, innovative and on-brand design solutions
- provide mentorship and foster professional development within the design team
Design strategy and execution:
- establish and communicate the design vision and strategy for B.A.H in collaboration with the director
- lead the creative direction across all projects, ensuring they reflect the firm’s luxury aesthetics and adhere to the client’s vision and objectives
- drive innovation and push creative boundaries
Client engagement and relationship management:
- act as the primary point of contact for key clients during the design process, offering expert advice and solutions
- present design concepts, ensuring clear communication of ideas and managing client expectations
- ensure client satisfaction with final deliverables, while balancing design integrity with client needs
Project management:
- oversee multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timelines, budgets, and quality standards are met
- collaborate closely with project managers, procurement teams and contractors to ensure seamless project delivery
- ensure that the design process is efficient, organised and that all deadlines are adhered to
Collaboration and cross-functional leadership:
- collaborate with other departments such as procurement, marketing and operations to deliver a cohesive and integrated approach to projects
- work closely with external consultants, contractors and suppliers to ensure design execution aligns with the original creative vision
Business development:
- contribute to business development efforts by attending client meetings, participating in pitches and providing creative direction for new project proposals.
- stay ahead of design trends and industry developments, bringing fresh ideas to the table that could be leveraged for new business opportunities
- recognise and develop new business opportunities with new or existing clients
Qualifications and experience:
- a minimum of six to ten years of experience in luxury interior design, architecture or a related field, with at least five years in a leadership role
- proven experience leading design teams and delivering luxury projects from concept to completion
- strong knowledge of high-end materials, furnishings and finishes
- extensive experience in client-facing roles, with the ability to manage client relationships and expectations
- experience managing multiple projects and project teams simultaneously, with a track record of delivering projects on time and within budget
- deep understanding of contemporary design trends and a passion for luxury interiors
- proficient in design software such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite and other relevant tools

- strong creative vision and a high level of design sensitivity, particularly in the luxury sector
- ability to manage multiple projects and work efficiently under pressure
