Basha-Franklin is seeking an office manager to join its fast-growing team in London.

The role of office manager is for an ambitious individual that has previous experience in architecture, interior design or a similar creative industry and has a passion for creating an organised and seamlessly managed studio with people at the heart of the organisation.

The ideal candidate will be an organised, self-motivated problem-solver with a can-do attitude.

Basha-Franklin has seen double-digital growth in the past 12 months and is working on some high-profile projects that span workplace design, luxury residential and hospitality. This success has resulted in a total brand refresh and a new office location, situated on Regent’s Canal (between Haggerston and Angel) – both coming into effect in Spring 2024.

Working directly alongside the company’s founder and MD, Rachel Basha, creative director, Nicola Osborn, and architecture director Alex Franklin. You will be responsible for driving the day-to-day management of the studio, including organising team and events, bookkeeping, industry compliance, document control, facilities management and HR administration.

As a driven and highly organised individual, you will have effective planning and multi-tasking skills, ready to take on the day, while simultaneously thinking ahead.

Requirements:

  • proven experience as an office manager or in a similar administrative role
  • excellent organisational and multi-tasking abilities
  • strong written and verbal communication skills
  • proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant office software
  • knowledge of basic accounting principles
  • familiarity with project management concepts is a plus
  • ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment

  • previous experience in an architectural or design studio is desirable

Responsibilities:

  • administrative management: oversee day-to-day office operations, ensuring a well-organised and efficient work environment; manage office supplies, equipment and maintenance needs
  • communication and coordination: serve as the primary point of contact for internal and external communications; coordinate with project teams, clients and suppliers to facilitate seamless communication
  • team support: provide administrative support to architectural and design teams; assist in scheduling meetings, CDPs, events, managing calendars and coordinating travel arrangements; manage IT support for the team, assist with troubleshooting, IT supplies, equipment and software management
  • financial administration: assist in budget tracking, expense management and financial reporting; work closely with the MD and external finance specialists to ensure accurate record-keeping
  • project assistance: support project managers with documentation, filing, and organisation of project-related materials; assist in maintaining project schedules and deadlines
  • human resources administration: handle basic HR functions such as onboarding new employees, HR Calendar, leave requests, and managing employee records and internal policies; assist in organising team-building activities and events
  • facilities management: coordinate maintenance and repairs, ensuring a safe and comfortable work environment; manage office cleaner and cleaning supplies; ensure property is secure/manage access and keys
  • support for managing director: diary and email management; support to reduce dependence on the director’s time

Education and qualifications:

  • bachelor’s degree in business administration, management or a related field
  • previous experience in office management or administration
