High street project manager
at Bath & North East Somerset Council

Bath & North East Somerset Council is seeking a high street project manager to join its team in Bath, Keynsham or Midsomer Norton.

An exciting opportunity to join the high performing regeneration team at Bath & North East Somerset Council leading on the heritage led regeneration of the characterful market town, Midsomer Norton. This is a partnership role co-funded by Historic England, the Bath & North East Somerset and Midsomer Norton Town Council. The partnership is very successful; bringing in £3.5 million investment into the town over the last two years, the capital Town Hall transformation project has started on-site, and a number of successful projects have already been delivered.

In this post you will initially be leading on the Heritage Action Zone Programme co-ordinating the delivery of a range of projects, including shopfront and historic building improvements, public realm improvements, pop-up shops, markets and art interventions. You will be working alongside the High Street Local Cultural Programme coordinator.

You will also have the opportunity to develop and take forward Regeneration Action Plans, High Street Meanwhile Use projects and lead the development of funding bids and Masterplans – such as the Old Brewery site Masterplan in Midsomer Norton town centre.

We are looking for an excellent communicator, with the ability to engage, inspire and work collaboratively with a wide range of stakeholders including local residents, businesses and key decision makers in our partner organisations.

The successful applicants will have strong project management skills and a specialism in urban design, town planning, heritage architecture or conservation. Experience of delivering capital projects would also be beneficial.
