BDP is seeking a head of acoustics to join its team in London.
BDP has acoustic groups based in award-winning Manchester and London studios which provides leading-edge service to their own client base, as well as supporting BDP studios across the UK, Ireland, Netherlands, UAE, India, and China.
We are seeking a head of London acoustics who will be central to shaping the future of the acoustics profession in the London studio; driving new business and developing client relationships through a wide range of successful and profitable design projects.
About the role
As the most senior acoustic consultant at the BDP London studio, the head of London acoustics will lead a growing team of acoustics consultants, and will provide exemplary technical advice and expertise across all acoustic fields, particularly building and architectural acoustics. Developing key stakeholder relationships, externally to develop and raise our profile and internally to facilitate collaboration and ensure quality of delivery, will be key to the success of this role.
Working with the leadership of the London and Manchester groups, this role will contribute to strategic development planning for recruitment, resourcing, development and thought leadership.
The head of London acoustics will act as the acoustics project leader on an extensive portfolio of building projects across all construction sectors.
Providing support to, and working with, the profession head in maintaining the ‘one team’ ethos aligning the London and Manchester studios to deliver growth, financial performance, technical direction and outstanding work will be a key success factors in this role.
About you
- degree qualified in a relevant discipline
- full member of the Institute of Acoustics
- proven track record of technical expertise and delivering successful design projects
- possess excellent communication skills and capable of transmitting your passion for acoustic design to clients, other professions and the team
- in-depth knowledge of the construction industry including how to successfully cost bids and win work
- passionate and motivated acoustics professional, comfortable in providing exceptional acoustic technical expertise within a multi-disciplinary environment
- dynamic professional, able to motivate a team, drive new business, and maintain an exemplary client focus
