Beams Renovation is seeking a build manager for residential renovations to join its team in London.

From the moment the customer starts to plan their renovation and selects their design, to final completion, the Beams platform offers a seamless journey, allowing homeowners to take a backseat and oversee construction, while Beams-vetted contractors deliver projects tailored to their clients’ tastes.
This is a unique opportunity to completely overhaul the UK’s attitude to interior design and renovation. We’re well on our way having cultivated a community of top-quality contractors, developed a stream of projects sold, and built a sophisticated supplier ecosystem to support each home renovation.
We’re seeking a manager to grow our team of renovation project managers, grow our contractor community and build out processes & systems to help us bring this vision to life.
The role
Reporting to our COO, you will play a pivotal role in building a community of high-quality contractors, coordinating delivery of project proposals and coordinating scheduling of contractors for client works, and ensuring delivery of high-quality work to our customers within budget and on time. This role will also be pivotal in hiring additional project managers and supporting sales teams on sales as an internal expert
Your responsibilities:
- grow our contractor and specialist partner network to be part of the Beams community by developing our contractor and specialist partner value proposition and onboarding and vetting process for Beams contractors and specialist partners
- manage contractor and project matching process, ensuring we pick the right contractor, are within budget and timelines for project; work with our planning and design teams to create work orders based on sold projects
- conduct regular site visits to monitor progress, review build quality, address issues and manage site teams to budget, timeline and quality requirements
- coordinate and collaborate with contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure smooth project execution
- help build our build playbook including improving our tools, automating our processes and improving our suite of communications with contractors and customers
- build knowledge and expertise related to construction costs and processes, contractors and build processes: support other sales efforts as needed
About you
Essential:
- demonstrated construction experience in residential renovations and interior design with a focus on leading projects from their inception to their successful handover; preferred experience working with residential contractors
- strong process-focused, strong communicator, demonstrated ability to work with end customers and contractors
- understanding of construction methods, materials, quality standards and regulations
- excellent organisational and multitasking skills
- good knowledge of Google sheets or Excel, using formulas and developing spreadsheets (not macros etc.)
- attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality results
Desirable:
- a personal interest in sustainability and creating a greener environment is a plus
