Beams Renovation is hiring an interior designer for residential to join its team in London.
Our story
Beams is on a mission to make home renovation simpler and greener. We’re doing this by building a revolutionary technology platform and marketplace for homeowners and contractors so they can plan, design and build all in one place.
From the moment the customer starts to plan their renovation and selects their design, to final completion, the Beams platform offers a seamless journey, allowing homeowners to take a backseat and oversee construction, while Beams-vetted contractors deliver projects tailored to their clients’ tastes.
The role
Reporting to our head of design, we’re seeking an interior designer to join our team and help us bring this vision to life.
Your responsibilities:
- you will conduct a series of virtual design meetings with each homeowner
- you might use one of our curated designs or mix and match elements of those the homeowner likes best, or create an entirely unique design for the homeowner based on their vision for their home
- you will use software to 3D model the design including working on the model with the customer live during the virtual design meetings; you will also help turn the 3D model into 2D plans and elevations
- you will produce beautiful slides (based on our templates) for each phase of the design process, incorporating feedback you obtained from the homeowner during the virtual design meetings
- you will work with our carefully curated product catalogue and established supplier relationships to source products
- you will ensure the clients budget and timelines are met
- you will manage Beams’ relationship with the homeowner for the entirety of the design process before handing it over to our procurement team to source and build team once complete
- manage our freelance network of designers in conjunction with the head of design
About you
Essential:
- bachelor’s degree in interior design
- you have at least three years’ in client facing experience in high-quality residential design
- ideally, you have experience in modular/template design
- you have strong knowledge of fixtures and fittings for bathroom and kitchen renovations in particular
- you are comfortable creating 3D renders and 2D plans and elevations; ideally, you are proficient in SketchUp, AutoCAD and Revit
- your aesthetic is aligned with Beams (you can see some examples of our looks at https://www.beamsrenovation.com/bathrooms and https://www.beamsrenovation.com/kitchens)
- you are proficient with Google’s suite of collaboration tools, especially Google Slides and Google Sheets
- you have experience working to UK standards and regulations
Desirable:
- a personal interest in sustainability and creating greener products is a plus
