Senior landscape architect/designer
at BIG
BIG is hiring a senior landscape architect/designer to join its team in London.

We are currently looking for a talented, motivated and ambitious senior landscape architect/designer to work on a number of high-profile projects as an integrated member of the landscape team at BIG’s London studio.
You will be based in the office together with a vibrant, multidisciplinary team of 160+ BIGsters and will be responsible for the delivery of projects of varying scale and typology in the Middle East and UK, including masterplans, buildings and public realm design.
Key responsibilities:
- design of landscape projects and day-to-day coordination of BIG-L team
- generating creative, responsive and boundary-pushing ideas in collaboration with partners, project sub-consultants and clients
- technical development and management of landscape projects
- production and coordination of drawing sets
- ensuring design intent and quality across all stages
- presentation and inspiring both internal design teams and client groups
- balancing design intent, costs and technical feasibility in close collaboration with design leadership
- mentoring junior members in both design and technical developments
- participate in landscape leadership strategies in future growth of BIG-L London
The ideal candidate:
- minimum eight years’ experience as a landscape architect/designer on built and published references
- professional degree in landscape architecture
- experience working in the Middle East and working on hospitality projects is ideal
- influential and confident in client presentation, management and project coordination
- strong conceptual and design skills, strong organisational skills and ability to work under pressure with an open and flexible attitude
- experience with technical detailing and documentation
- experience in planting, natural systems and grading design aspects of landscape architecture
- proficiency in Rhino and Adobe Suite is essential, Revit and Enscape is desirable
- experience in an array of typologies (public, private, master planning) and technical realms (resiliency, large and small scale)
- experience in material selection and construction detailing
- excellent communication skills and fluency in English (spoken and written)

This is a full-time position based out of BIG’s London office. Working together and collaborating in the same space is integral to our culture, so all our staff are expected to work from the office every day.
