Part 2 architectural assistant/Part 3 architect
at Bolton Chalklin Architects
Bolton Chalklin Architects is seeking a Part 2 architectural assistant/Part 3 architect to join its team in London.
Bolton Chalklin Architects is an accomplished architecture and interior design partnership based in London and Kent with innovative style, bespoke craftsmanship and articulate delivery at our core. Individually tailored and beautifully detailed, we specialise in the creation of quality restored architecture and elegant interiors. Due to an increased number of projects, Bolton Chalklin Architects is looking for an enthusiastic Part 2/3 with lead role experience and project running capacity to join our London office.
The successful candidate will be involved in high quality residential and commercial projects in both London and the South East. We need a driven, articulate and well-presented individual who is resourceful, creative, independent and eager to work with us in various roles to help further growth. The chosen applicant will carry projects through all RIBA work stages, so experience of taking a lead role in running projects is essential. Whilst we do not expect our employees to have all the answers, the ideal candidate will have the drive and curiosity to find solutions themselves.
Initial interviews will take place on Zoom. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend a second interview in the office, during which they will be required to undertake a CAD test.
Key skills and requirements:
- confident individual with excellent communication skills – the role will be client facing in addition to working with consultants, contractors and suppliers
- a minimum one years’ experience post RIBA Part 2 or 3, ideally working on private residential projects in the UK, in a small to medium sized studio
- able to multitask and manage own workload and different project threads
- strong eye for design and presentation and passion to work with different project styles from period buildings to contemporary fit outs
- sound two-dimensional drafting working between plans, elevations and sections is essential
- strong working knowledge of the UK planning system and building regulations
- experience liaising with clients and contractors/sub-contractors, including conducting on-site inspections
- proven experience managing projects from inception to completion with the ability to oversee and coordinate all aspects of the project
- AutoCAD 2D and Microsoft Office – essential
- SketchUp and Adobe suite – essential
- excellent written and spoken English paramount
The package offers a competitive salary negotiable dependent on experience, 20 days annual leave plus eight bank holidays and pension contributions.
