Boss Design is hiring a 3D modeller and digital asset manager to join its team in the West Midlands, UK.

We are currently looking to enlarge our team to support our clients with 3D and digital assets focusing on transforming CAD models from our in-house design team to the following formats: 3D DWG, 3DS, SketchUp, pCon.

This is an exciting opportunity to own our online product configurator journey, one we want you to embrace.  We need you to be the link between the company’s product catalogue and our configurator supplier, connecting 3D cad with pricing options.  You may not know what pCon is but your 3D CAD skills and attention to detail are essential to prepare you for this role.

What you will be doing – the beginning:

  • create and optimise 3D assets/3D CAD files
  • collation and preparation of pCon parametric data (3D DWG files)
  • CAD file library management
  • Revit file briefing and management
  • work with external suppliers to coordinate information
  • ability to learn and develop new skills

What you will be doing – moving forward:

  • pCon support and troubleshooting
  • manage our pCon Data, catalogue and subscribers
  • implement requested feedback and changes
  • contribute to process and quality improvement
  • document project data accurately and timely
  • digital archiving
  • 3D visualisation and liaison

Who you are:

  • all things 3D – can you use Solidworks, 3DS Max, AutoCAD
  • you have the ability to work and communicate with a broad customer base in a multinational company
  • team-oriented working style with good communication and network skills
  • deep understanding of visual and geometric requirements for a product from verbal descriptions, sketches, photographs, prototypes, and/or mock-ups
  • strong digital asset management capability
  • you are a detail-oriented person
  • you are able to work on multiple assignments and good planning of your time and priorities
  • you have the ability to handle project information in a structured manner


  • one to five years’ prior experience working with 3D modelling
  • relevant higher education qualification
  • medium to advanced 3DS Max knowledge; equivalent type applications can be taken into consideration
  • artistic skills and knowing how to use technology to your advantage
  • experience with Photoshop, After Effects, Unreal Engine, animation and rendering (V-Ray, Corona) are a bonus
  • a portfolio that demonstrates your experience

This role has the ability to grow and be taken into many different directions depending on how you as an individual want to progress and evolve your skill set. We have a key role to fill with strong CAD skills but can offer opportunities on top as business needs to demand.
