Brown & Brown Architects is seeking an architectural technologist to join its team in Strathdon, Scotland.

Brown & Brown Architects is an award-winning design practice, working on high-end residential projects across the country.

Having recently celebrated our tenth birthday, our practice is at an exciting stage with a solid body of work, and a considerable volume of work in the pipeline.

Based in the Cairgnorms National Park, our small hillside studio is located in one of the most beautiful areas of Scotland. We are looking for someone to join us in the office, with options for partial working from home considered.

Candidates should have the right to work in the UK. No agencies please.

The role

We are looking to add an early-career architectural technologist to our team. You will work on high-end residential projects across the country, often in fantastic locations, and where the quality of the architecture is always of prime importance.

We’re offering a stimulating opportunity for an ambitious technologist to fulfil an exciting and challenging role within our young and growing practice, where live/work balance is extremely important. This is the ideal opportunity for someone looking to make a real difference within a design-focused organisation, and to have the potential to grow and develop with the studio.

Experience: minimum two years’ post-education

Salary: dependent upon experience/level

Start date: to be discussed, due to COVID-19

Location: Strathdon, Aberdeenshire

Essential skills:

  • a love of design-led architecture
  • ability to work with both design and senior architectural technologist staff
  • able to work well under pressure
  • be an excellent communicator, both with colleagues and clients
  • have a keen eye for detail
  • knowledge of Vectorworks
  • take an active interest in industry advancements
  • a good knowledge of Sketchup would be desirable
