ByOthers is seeking a Part 3 architect to join its team in London, UK.
We are a design-led practice that seeks out interesting projects, sites and clients. We like challenges, unusual briefs and are not afraid to get our hands dirty.
The studio structure is not driven by egos and collaboration is at the heart of our everyday work. We see everything as an opportunity and have never been scared to learn.
We currently have an exciting spectrum of projects ranging from single private dwellings to multi-storey apartments to community centres to 100 unit housing schemes.
About you
We are seeking an architect that is a confident designer, exceptionally ambitious and ready to help be part of how the practice grows and is shaped. You are not a cog in a large machine, you will be a key member of the team and studio environment. You will have input from the beginning to the completion of projects. You’ll be working on feasibility studies, concept designs, complex planning permissions, developing tender packs and the construction phase.
Key qualities to bring to the team:
- the ability to be proactive, self-motivated and able to take initiative in response to direction
- an innovative approach to problem solving and design challenges
- great interpersonal and communication skills
- confidence when client facing and presenting
- identity and test design options for internal and external reviews
- proven experience with technical detailing, construction documentation and construction administration
- understanding of how to get the best from a consultant team other project stakeholders
- ability to prepare, develop and edit drawings and 3D models for all RIBA stages
- strong organisational skills, with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
Required skills and experience:
- professional qualification as an architect
- three to seven years post qualification experience as an architect
relevant project experience - experience using Rhino, Revit, AutoCAD, Vray and Adobe Suite
- excellent communication skills and fluency in English – spoken and written
- a flexible and open attitude towards new ways of working and team collaboration
