Interior design draftsperson/CAD technician

CAPS is seeking an interior design draftsperson/CAD technician with experienced 3D rendering skills to join its team in London.

We are a long-established architecture and interior design practice with international clients and a focus on high-end commercial and residential projects. We are based in London and looking for an experienced draftsperson/CAD specialist with 3D rendering skills to join our studio in Notting Hill Gate.

Your job will be to:

  • produce and develop 3D renderings for store roll-out programs as an in-house designer
  • develop, produce and coordinate construction drawing sets for store roll-out programs

The ideal candidate will have high technical design knowledge and a real passion for detail. This would suit someone from a shop-fitting, millwork or contracting industry background or a technologist or Part 1 architect, who also has experience of rendering interiors. If you could also assist the office manager with design software related issues, this would be a bonus but is not essential.

We are seeking someone to join the team in January or sooner and the role will be full time.

Description of role:

  • develop, produce and coordinate construction drawing sets for store roll-out programs
  • model and render interior environments in 2D and 3D from technical drawings
  • visualise finishes, lighting and décor in a wide variety of styles – producing high-quality rendering and graphics
  • apply practice standards to project assignments
  • assist with continuing to develop and build a library of styles and finishes

You will:

  • have five years’ experience working as/with one or some of the following: contracting industry/technical draftsman/a shop-fitting company/a millworker
  • have the ability to make technical drawings fit for construction
  • have advanced knowledge of 3ds Max, AutoCAD, V-Ray, Corona, InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop
  • have a portfolio of work showing your ability to produce a wide variety of styles and finishes in 2D and 3D
  • be proactive and a problem solver, with a positive and upbeat attitude
  • have an eye for detail
  • genuinely enjoy and have a passion for detailing and rendering
  • want to make this your career
  • be legally entitled to work in the UK

Salary will be commensurate with experience.
