Junior/mid-weight interior designer

Catto & Co is seeking a junior to mid-weight interior designer to join its team in London.

Catto & Co is a London-based ‘turn-key’ design and build firm that specialises in delivering excellent architectural & interior design, efficient project management and high-quality construction. We aim to remove the complexity from domestic construction projects with a driven team all under one roof. We pride ourselves on our open, fast-paced and friendly team.

Job role

We are looking for an experienced creative to support our senior interior designer, who will be proactive and organised in order to put together comprehensive briefs and work with deadlines. Excellent verbal and written communications are also essential, as you will be liaising between multiple parties, including suppliers, sub-contractors etc.

Responsibilities:

  • support the senior designer at all stages of the projects
  • develop detailed specifications
  • create technical drawings including spatial planning, furnishing layouts and detailed elevations to design intent level
  • work with the senior designer to create design presentations including, mood boards, drawings and concept imagery
  • helping to source new furniture, antiques and art and bring original and fresh thoughts to the studio
  • design and develop beautiful bespoke furniture, including case pieces, upholstery, lighting and joinery
  • project procurement and organisation including schedules
  • attend regular internal and external design team meetings with clients and suppliers
  • check information produced by consultants, subcontractors and suppliers
  • assist with project site monitoring, installation and photography

Skills and attributes:

  • one or more years’ post-qualification experience with proven previous experience in delivering high-end residential FF&E packages from concept through to completion
  • an eye for detail, colour, and knowledge of antiques
  • proficient in AutoCAD with a good range of other computer skills such as Adobe Suite. Experience in EstiMAC/EstiPC preferred
  • excellent verbal and written communication is also essential, as you will be liaising between multiple parties, including suppliers, sub-contractors and architects
  • collaborative team player
  • methodical, detail-oriented and organised

Additional information:

  • start date ASAP
  • three-month probation period is required to make sure that you are a good fit for us, and vice versa
  • salary depends on experience within the industry
  • regular working hours are 9am to 6pm
