CHF Global Home is seeking a talented and creative furniture designer to join its team remotely in the UK.

As a furniture designer, you will play a key role in developing innovative furniture concepts, translating trends into marketable designs and contributing to the overall success of our product range.

Responsibilities:

• generate new furniture concepts and product ideas that align with market trends, customer preferences and brand objectives
• research emerging trends, materials and technologies in the furniture industry to inspire and inform design decisions
• create detailed sketches, renderings and technical drawings of furniture designs using CAD software and traditional sketching techniques
• develop prototypes and mock-ups to test and refine design concepts, ensuring they meet quality standards, functionality requirements and cost targets
• work closely with cross-functional teams, including product development, sourcing and manufacturing, to ensure a smooth transition from design concept to production
• adept at prioritising tasks and ensuring that designs are delivered promptly, even when working with colleagues in different time zones
• effectively convey complex information to overseas factories through strong presentation and communication skills
• participate in design reviews, brainstorming sessions, and presentations to share ideas, gather feedback and drive consensus on design direction
• maintain awareness of competitor products and market trends to identify opportunities for differentiation and innovation
• contribute to the development and maintenance of design standards, guidelines and processes to ensure consistency and quality across product lines

Qualifications:

• bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification in furniture design, industrial design, product design or a related field
• proven experience as a furniture designer, preferably within the furniture manufacturing or retail industry
• proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks, SketchUp) and Adobe Creative Suite
• excellent understanding of furniture materials, construction techniques and manufacturing processes
• creative flair, with a passion for design innovation and trend forecasting
• strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to effectively articulate and present design concepts
• attention to detail, with a focus on quality and craftsmanship
• ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously
• knowledge of sustainability principles and their application in furniture design is desirable
