Child Graddon Lewis is seeking an interior architect/architectural designer to join its retail team in London.

We are looking for an enthusiastic interior architect/architectural designer to join our team to deliver a fast-paced programme of retail fit-out work in delivering hundreds of new shops every year.

This is a great opportunity to join a busy retail fit-out delivery team to assist in the preparation of feasibility and production information for a range of retail brand-name clients.

The role

  • preparation of basic survey information (both measuring on site and preparing the base drawings)
  • generation of initial test-to-fit retail layouts with both front-of-house sales areas, and back-of-house staff and stock areas designed to suit the individual client’s operational requirements
  • meeting building control legislation, the technical proposals from other client team consultants and meeting any landlord’s requirements
  • preparing and submitting planning applications, building control submissions, landlord approvals, client approval packs of information
  • attend and record client team meetings (minute writing and prioritisation of task lists)
  • co-ordination with consultants and specialist subcontractors
  • preparation of detailed construction information
  • the ideal candidates will be capable of working independently, managing multiple competing deadlines and taking instruction from senior colleagues with respect to prioritisation of tasks, technical guidance, and advice
  • Revit skills are essential, the ability to undertake basic measured surveys would be an advantage, but most other skills can be learned on the job
  • ability to travel to sites throughout the UK and Ireland required
