Claridge Architects is looking for an architectural technologist or technical architect to join its team in London, UK.

The role offers excellent opportunities for career progression. Applicants should combine demonstrable design and communication skills with good technical knowledge and experience of taking projects through to coordinated design, technical detailing and construction stages.

The ideal candidate will bring:

• strong technical detailing skills and a proven ability to produce high-quality construction packages
• at least 3 years of experience, with a track record of leading projects from RIBA Stages 3 to 7
• a proactive, self-motivated attitude with excellent problem-solving abilities
• a collaborative approach, with clear communication and organisational skills to manage multiple responsibilities effectively

Role and responsibilities

As part of our team, you will focus on the technical and construction delivery of projects, contributing to our expanding portfolio of mixed-use commercial developments, housing projects, student accommodation, and co-living spaces across the UK. This is an excellent opportunity to work on impactful projects at a pivotal time for our practice.

Key responsibilities include:

• technical delivery: producing detailed drawings and documentation for tender and construction phases
• coordination: leading collaboration with external consultants, addressing technical queries, and ensuring seamless integration of project components
• project leadership: supporting project leaders with the resolution of building regulation matters, contractor queries and other technical challenges
• team management: enthusiastically mentoring and guiding a small in-house team to achieve project goals

Skills required

• vectorworks experience
• strong knowledge and experience in the UK Residential sector
• experience of working with BIM protocols
• NBS specification writing
• a comprehensive understanding of the UK Building Regulations
• personal motivation and discipline to work independently as well as within a team environment
• excellent design skills to deliver high quality design, across a variety of scales and in complex urban settings
• an ability to plan, prioritise and organise workload
• effective reporting against timescales and deliverables to the senior management
• a good technical mind and an eye for detail
• be presentable and confident with both client and contractor facing responsibilities
• excellent English, both written and verbal and eligible to work in the UK
