Claridge Architects has an opportunity for a Part 3 architect to join its London-based team.
Claridge Architects is an award-winning, design-led practice based in Marble Arch, London, in business for over 20 years and with projects in various cities in the UK. We are known for our contemporary, contextual and sensitive designs predominantly in the residential and commercial sectors.
We are currently looking for a talented and enthusiastic Part 3 architect, to join our vibrant team, working on large-scale residential and co-living projects country-wide. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to job-run various projects at different stages in a supportive environment. The practice is looking for someone to grow with the practice and establish themselves as a core member of the team. Applicants should combine demonstrable design and communication skills with good technical knowledge and experience in taking projects through to concept design, planning approval and coordinated design stages.
The successful candidates will be confident, friendly and efficient. Enthusiastic about working as part of a dynamic and energetic team and happy to assist wherever required. Our office is a young and social one, so having a great personality is key.
Responsibilities:
- producing drawings for planning applications
- liaising directly with clients and producing effective presentations
- leading coordination with external consultants and dealing with queries effectively, driving project-related matters to conclusion
- enthusiastically lead and motivate a small in-house team
Skills required:
- a comprehensive understanding of the UK building regulations and the UK planning framework
- personal motivation and discipline to work independently as well as within a team environment
- excellent design skills to deliver high-quality design across a variety of scales and in complex urban settings
- an ability to plan, prioritise and organise workload
- effective reporting against timescales and deliverables to the Director & Senior management
- excellent skills in Adobe Creative Suite, including InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator
- a good technical mind and an eye for detail
- be presentable and confident with both client and contractor-facing responsibilities
- excellent English, both written and verbal, and eligible to work in the UK
Additional skills welcome:
- Vectorworks experience
- Revit and/or AutoCAD experience on live projects within the UK
- 3D modelling experience (SketchUp)
- NBS specification writing
