Concorde BGW Group has a vacancy for a senior interior designer to join its team in South Yorkshire, UK.

A fantastic opportunity is available for an experienced senior interior designer to join an exciting and progressive business. We are an established and growing design, build and reactive maintenance company specialising in the hospitality and leisure sectors and we need someone to work as part of our award winning design department at our head office in Doncaster.

The ideal candidate will be passionate, creative and comfortable working on and leading a variety of projects either alone or as part of a team. We have a wide range of clients including some large and well-known names but we also have small independent customers so we can offer the chance to work on a broad spectrum of projects. As we work nationally, and occasionally internationally, some travel and overnight stays will be required.

Main duties and skills required:

  • attending and leading project briefing meetings with new and existing clients
  • working to a written or verbal brief, which details how each individual space will be used
  • preparation of concepts, mood boards, preliminary and final designs, and development of detailed design pack
  • professional presentation of proposals to clients
  • ability to advise clients on all technical aspects of a design project
  • produce drawing packs including details using AutoCAD (or similar)
  • produce presentations and visuals using InDesign and Photoshop (or similar)
  • produce FF&E schedules and manage procurement of products
  • managing projects efficiently, within schedule and within budget in close cooperation with project team to help deliver projects on time
  • site visits to attend meetings or carry out surveys
  • developing detailed designs and choosing materials and products with commercial suitability for projects
  • work efficiently to tight deadlines and manage your own time effectively
  • mentoring and assisting junior designers and leading and managing projects
  • building and growing existing and new client relationships
  • proven experience in dealing with clients, contractors and other suppliers in a highly professional manner
  • excellent communication skills including verbal, written and visual
  • exceptional attention to detail
  • complete timesheets weekly and expenses on a monthly basis
  • complete and instruct designers risk assessments as required

Overview

As a senior designer you will be proactive, self-motivated and use your initiative whether working alone or as part of a team. You will need to manage your workload effectively and have the ability to prioritise your workload while also helping junior members of the team plan their time. You will be comfortable leading and driving projects and being a main point of contact for clients. You will have proven experience in running and delivering commercial projects from initial concept to completion and producing a detailed design and FF&E pack from which the project can be costed and built.

This a permanent contract working 37.5 hours and our core hours are 8.30am – 5pm, Monday – Friday. The salary for this position is up to £38,000 per annum dependant on experience and we also offer a company pension scheme and holiday buy back scheme. This can be a hybrid role with some working from home as workloads and dairies allow.
