Crane & Associates is looking for an architectural technologist to join its team based in Surrey, UK.

About us

Crane & Associates is an award-winning architecture and design practice established in 1987 with a reputation for finding elegant solutions to both contemporary and historic architectural challenges. We have worked on projects across Southern England and the UK. Our projects include commercial and high-end residential buildings, as well as schools, community projects and heritage projects.

The role

We are looking for a self-motivated architectural technologist to join our team working primarily on high-end residential projects, both major refurbishments and prestigious new builds, and commercial projects where needed. Robin Crane is a RIBA Specialist Conservation Architect (SCA) so we also work on listed buildings and heritage, residential and community buildings.

The ideal candidate would have a minimum of six years’ relevant work experience working within a UK practice with a good working knowledge of the current UK Building and CDM Regulations. The successful candidate must be confident, friendly, and efficient, with a design flair and excellent attention to detail.

Skills:

  • experience in the preparation of residential construction drawings
  • strong visual communication skills and excellent attention to detail
  • proficiency in using Vectorworks
  • self-motivated, enthusiastic and friendly highly efficient
  • good working knowledge of Sketchup, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop and InDesign) and Microsoft Office Suite advantageous
  • strong design flair and technical understanding of construction
  • technical knowledge of current UK Building Regulations
