Associate urban designer
at Cross Works

Cross Works is looking for an associate urban designer/team leader to join its team in London.

We are on the lookout for an associate level design team lead, with excellent project and team management skills and very strong design capabilities. The ideal candidate is someone who thrives in a fast-paced creative environment and able to work across multiple design projects/teams simultaneously.

We’re a friendly, enthusiastic and highly motivated collective, growing in order to meet an increased demand across a variety of sectors and geographies. We envisage the successful candidate to be a long-term part of the team and welcome those who would like to develop as a central member of the business.

We’re currently working on a number of iconic projects internationally, spanning a diverse range of typologies and scales from mixed-use architectural projects through to large-scale/city-wide masterplanning schemes and megaprojects, to technology initiatives in the built environment.

The following knowledge, capabilities and experience will be required in order to be shortlisted for interview:

  • architect or urban designer with approximately ten years of demonstrable professional experience (i.e in practice) in architecture and/or urban design
  • exceptional design skills with experience in the management of large-scale international projects and a passion for cities and urban design
  • a client-focused problem solver, with a propensity to work with clients to curate solutions that meet specific project requirements
  • excellent team leader with delegation skills, comfortable running multiple projects concurrently
  • knowledge and ability to use 3D software (proficiency in Rhino is essential, and a working knowledge of GIS is also very much required)
  • excellent communication and presentation skills and an ability to collaborate effectively with wider project teams and consultants
  • very strong command of the English language (both written and spoken is required)

We offer a generous salary and benefits (dependent on experience and capabilities), including an annual bonus scheme.

This position will require working in an office environment five days a week in London (please note, this is not a remote or WFH/semi-WFH role).
