Cross Works is seeking an experienced web/graphic designer to join its growing team in London.

This role is ideal for a candidate with a strong background in graphic design, UI/UX design and website development. The successful candidate will be instrumental in creating responsive websites that align with our clients’ needs and our high standards.

The firm is on the look out for a highly motivated and creative web designer with exceptional graphic design skills. The successful candidate will be a highly creative, personable and ambitious self-starter, with great organisational and time management skills.

Key responsibilities of the role will include :

  • graphic design/branding/logo
  • video production
  • UI/UX design for web pages/applications from wireframes to final designs using Figma or similar tools
  • develop responsive, mobile-first websites using HTML, CSS and JS
  • work with PHP CMS platforms such as WordPress, Wix, to build and manage content-driven websites
  • headless CMS / Content Delivery platforms like Strapi and Storybook is a plus point
  • website optimisation for performance, scalability, SEO/SEM and accessibility
  • host and deploy websites on Apache/PHP/MySQL or similar stacks
  • managing social media accounts/updates
  • engage directly with clients to understand project requirements and provide technical recommendations
  • participate in team discussions, contributing to agile workflows and collaborating with cross-disciplinary teams

Key requirements to get shortlisted for the role include:

  • experience: minimum five plus years’ of experience in front-end development and web design
  • proficiency in JavaScript, HTML and CSS
  • experience with CMS platforms such as WordPress, Joomla, Wix or Strapi
  • skilled in using Adobe Creative Suite effectively
  • video editing/motion graphics
  • solid understanding of responsive design and accessibility
  • basic SEO/SEM knowledge
  • familiarity with Git version control systems and agile methodologies is a bonus
  • experience with hosting and deployment on LAMP, WAMP, LEMP or similar
  • expertise in Figma or similar design tools, and experience with Adobe Stock
  • knowledge of React, NextJS, GraphQL is a plus point
  • excellent communication skills to collaborate with clients and team members
  • strong organisational and time-management abilities
  • high attention to detail and problem-solving capabilities
  • a friendly, respectful and team-player attitude

Competitive salary (and bonus scheme) dependent on experience and capabilities.

This position will require working in an office environment in London (Camden), five days per week.

Full eligibility to work in the UK with immediate effect is required.
