David Chipperfield Architects is hiring a senior architect to join its team in Berlin.
David Chipperfield Architects Berlin is looking for a qualified architect with at least five years’ experience for large and complex international projects.
Founded in 1998 for the Neues Museum on Berlin’s Museum Island, David Chipperfield Architects Berlin is engaged in many areas of architecture, urban design, and interior design – both in the private and public sector, in Germany and internationally. DCA Berlin has embraced a generational transition in leadership and has been operating under a collaborative management model in recent years. Today, our dynamic and diverse campus in Berlin-Mitte is home to around 120 employees. Key responsibilities:
- supporting the projects in early concept phases with in-depth studies for essential details
- establishment of the basis for the design
- holisitic conception, establishment, and realization up to the lead details on the basis of the developed design and permit design
- coordination and integration of consultants
- quality control of the design
- solid knowledge of technical standards
- product research
- where applicable, support and review of tendering and awarding of contracts
- where applicable, artistic supervision during construction
Required qualifications:
- degree in architecture or engineering
- at least five years’ professional experience in large, international projects (emphasis on Concept to Technical design as well as site design supervision)
- experience with complex, international projects
- expertise in construction
- legal knowledge
- experience in BIM processes
- very good knowledge of CAD (Archicad), in particular 3D-design
- very good written and spoken English
- knowledge of German (spoken and written) is an advantage
