We are immediately seeking to hire a part-time interior designer and/or interior architect with the potential to lead to full time, depending on skill sets and performance. This position requires that you will be working closely with our CEO in our beautifully situated Port Orchard, Washington studio as we shelter in place through spring of 2021 and work collaboratively with our local and international teams.
The right candidate must have three-five years minimum experience in interior design or interior architecture and have a strong desire to learn and/or build upon an existing career in hospitality design. The right candidate will be bright, creative and enthusiastic as well as a great student and willing learner. They will be a hard-working, highly motivated, positive-minded individual who works well independently, is analytical in approach and is highly focused.
DDA is a high pressure, demanding environment with prestigious projects and clients. At DDA every player plays a critical role. We are a highly collaborative international office, though with Covid-19 personal interaction with the other team players will be limited to Zoom. You must be comfortable and skilled with working independently and with limited supervision once trained. You must be willing to work in all aspects of design and do what it takes to make this remote studio function on a daily basis, including sorting RFIs, samples management, project organization. Administrative support staff is remote.

In this position, you will be interfacing directly with the CEO and founding principle on a daily basis and will be expected to be highly professional, organized, practical and responsible as you work in the context of both assistant and interior designer. Maturity, intelligence and creative talent paired with a high level of reasoning and problem-solving skills is required. In return for your effective and supportive participation, you will be provided with personalized mentoring and training in multiple aspects of hospitality, interior design, and architecture. DDA is fully booked with new projects and with a track record of 33 years of success.
