London, UK
Architect
at Daykin Marshall Studio

Daykin Marshall Studio is hiring an architect to join its team in London.

Daykin Marshall Studio is an award winning, creative and ambitious small architectural practice working across the UK, specialising in houses, housing and public placemaking. Our studio is based in Dulwich, in a diverse creative hub, so candidates should enjoy combining a non-central London working life with a desire to travel to projects around the country.

We are looking for a qualified architect to join the studio who can demonstrate experience of designing and delivering high-quality UK-based private residential projects for domestic clients – both retrofit and new-build. Successful applicants will be expected to thoroughly evidence this experience at interview. Exceptional candidates will have also worked with private developers or social landlords.

You must therefore be a confident, communicative designer, who is comfortable at job running, and enjoys the process of guiding clients. Together with a strong creative eye, you should be able to demonstrate a sound basis in considered, robust, low carbon construction detailing, and a good knowledge of UK Planning/Building Regulations. The role requires experience of all RIBA Workstages and a clear drive to see projects through to completion on site.

Collaboration and face-to-face working are very important to the studio, so you will be actively involved in the design process on the projects you run.  We are focussed on creative, professional production in the working day, not a late-working culture.

Excellent graphic skills are important, ideally with knowledge of Vectorworks, SketchUp and Enscape. You should also have excellent abilities in the Adobe Creative Suite.

Daykin Marshall Studio is an equal opportunities employer. We champion diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees.

You must be eligible to work in the UK. Fluency in spoken and written English is very important.

Daykin Marshall Studio offer competitive, industry benchmarked salaries, an employer contribution workplace pension and paid, role-specific professional training /CPD.

Your application must include:

  • An application-specific covering letter addressed to James Daykin stating your suitability for the role
  • Your CV
  • a concise portfolio of your professional experience meeting the criteria above

Portfolio file size should be a maximum of 20mb.

Applications should be made by email to [email protected]

We are only able to reply to candidates who we invite for interview.
