Part 2/3 architectural assistant/architect

Deans Hansen is looking for an experienced Part 2/3 architectural assistant/architect to join its London team remotely.

Many of our projects are soon to go on site and we are seeking individuals who can demonstrate a passion and advanced construction knowledge in taking a lead project role. The role will also involve detailed design, so experience in the later RIBA stages is essential.

We work very closely with contractors and clients of ongoing construction projects and as such, a portion of your responsibilities will involve liaising with clients, project structural engineers, the contractors on site, approved inspectors, manufacturers and suppliers.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of three years of professional experience, working in the UK.

Key responsibilities:

  • responsible for the day-to-day running of projects, ensuring they are delivered on time and on budget
  • producing presentation drawings, models, sketches and renderings
  • support and follow-through of initial design through to the completion of construction develop and maintain positive relationships with existing clients, maximising any potential opportunities
  • focus on the smooth management of the design and construction project process, being aware of any requirements, deliverables, timelines and visibility of costs against fees throughout the project life cycle
  • take active ownership of problems and find successful resolutions
  • contribute to project reports and staff meetings with concise and accurate information to continually improve the studio’s delivery and financial objectives
  • maintain an awareness of clients’ goals and act accordingly

Excellent communication skills, and proficiency using Vectorworks and Adobe indesign and photoshop is essential. SketchUp, hand drawing and Adobe Creative Suite skills are preferable.
