Part 1 architectural assistant
at Design International

Design International is hiring a Part 1 architectural assistant to join its team in London.

Central London office.

Salary range: £23,000 to £28,000 depending on experience.

Hybrid role worked over a 4.5 day working week (1.00pm Friday finish).

We are Design International, an award-winning practice renowned for our truly innovative designs in over 40 countries, brought to life in the creation of retail, leisure, hospitality and office breathing spaces that bring and bond people together.

This architectural assistant will contribute and assist in the development of scheme designs as part of the project appointed Design Team, supporting projects across 45 countries. It’s a key appointment to help ensure the continued successful delivery of our projects in a timely and cost-effective manner as we continue to grow and build on our own 60-year history.

In particular you will:

  • work as part of the design team, developing designs for a project, including drawings, plans, images, reports and presentations across disciplines including master planning, architecture and interior design
  • collaborate with other team members and sub-contractors to produce design work according to the client brief on time and on budget
  • support the team during project presentations, ensuring that project documentation is archived correctly

We’re looking for a RIBA Part 1 or equivalent qualified professional who is proficient in Rhino, with an understanding of Grasshopper and parametric design, and has a strong interest in architectural visualisation, including hands-on experience with real-time rendering software. You will also need to be fluent in both written and verbal English

You’ll possess strong 3D and presentation skills, along with strong graphic communication abilities demonstrated through clear diagrams, drawings, and sketches. A background which includes significant cross-cultural experience, enabling you to operate effectively in diverse environments along with working well under pressure, managing concurrent demands and meeting tight deadlines with efficiency. You will need to have a strong ability to quickly and clearly understand project briefs, ensuring aligned and effective design outcomes.
