Design International is looking for a senior architect to join its team in London.

Location: central London – modern designer offices or Milan
Salary: £39k to £44k per annum
Hybrid working

Design International want to work with a passionate and talented Senior Architect located at either our London or Milan office. We encourage creativity and innovation, and you can expect to work in a vibrant and fast paced environment.

About the role of senior architect

This is a creative role where you will be supporting the project leader and the design manager, contributing to and assisting in the development of all design stages.

You will:

  • deliver high standards of design and technical knowledge whilst keeping designated projects to budget and to agreed timelines – this will test your creativity
  • create and maintain effective working relationships with external clients, contractors, and consultants – we work with some of the most exciting projects
  • manage all design stages and aspects of a project and influence performance and functional issues
  • provide effective support and assistance to the project leader
  • allocate work to project team and take day to day responsibility for the direction of the team in line with the directions of the project leader
  • travel to other offices, sites, client offices as required

To be successful in the role you will need to be able to demonstrate a minimum of five years’ holding similar roles within an architectural or multi-disciplinary practice and having dealt with clients and consultants/contractor at some point in your career.

RIBA or ARB qualified or equivalent with up to five years professional experience, in addition to the above you will ideally need the following:

  • Revit fluency is a must, at least two years’ live experience on the software
  • proficient in the use of other design applications (such as AutoCAD, presentation and 3D softwares) and Microsoft Office Suite
  • strong mixed-use, retail, commercial and residential background
  • have a good understanding of the complete architectural process & the inputs required at each stage
  • able to work independently to high standard and contribute highs levels of performance in the coordination of project teams
  • excellent presentation skills
  • strong cross-cultural experience – able to operate effectively in a culturally diverse environment
  • ability to work under pressure and handle concurrent demands effectively to tight deadlines
  • ability to sketch and communicate ideas/project brief clearly and quickly
  • must have a commitment to seek new ways of working to achieve continuous improvement

Please note you will need to be able to write and speak English fluently and have eligibility to work in UK for London office position and to EU for Milan office position.
