Doug Aitken Workshop is seeking a rendering and visualization designer to join their team in Los Angeles. The candidate should be based in Los Angeles to work on new projects, from conceptual visualization to fully realized art and architectural works. Projects range from wall sculptures and immersive installations to architectural structures, pavilions, and exhibition designs.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in architectural rendering, with the ability to create high-quality photorealistic representations that bring complex ideas to life. This role requires expertise in digital modeling, high-level rendering, and animation, along with a refined visual sensibility. The candidate should be able to conduct visual research, create photorealistic 3D renderings, mood boards and collages, and translate conceptual ideas into clear and compelling imagery. Additionally, they should be capable of producing full drawing sets, presentations, and decks to support the development of final artwork designs. Looking for an intuitive problem-solver with strong aesthetic instincts, communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced creative studio.
Qualifications:
- highly skilled in creating 3D models and photorealistic renderings to support design proposals
- ability to work quickly and efficiently to generate high-quality visualizations under tight deadlines
- attention to detail
- ability to produce comprehensive drawing sets, including plans, sections, elevations, and exploded axonometrics
- ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- minimum of two to three years’ professional experience in architectural rendering, visualization, or related fields
- expertise in Rhino, V-Ray, and Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)
- proficiency in additional 3D software such as Cinema 4D, Maya, or ZBrush is a plus
- strong understanding of materiality, lighting and spatial composition
- bachelor’s or master’s degree in architecture, industrial design, or a related field
