Elliott Architects is looking for a project architect to join its team in Hexham, UK.

Elliott Architects is a small, design-led studio based in the lovely historic market town of Hexham, Northumberland.

We are a multi-award-winning practice – eleven shortlistings and nine regional and national RIBA Awards in the last nine years – and are looking for a proactive and independent project architect to join the current team of eight, to manage and run projects from concept to completion. We work on a range of building types and have particular expertise and interest in contemporary architecture in sensitive historic and rural contexts.

The studio is currently working across multiple sectors including hospitality, leisure, mixed-use, cultural, community and residential projects.

Roles and responsibilities:

  • work across all RIBA stages
  • work independently to produce design and technical drawing packages
  • manage multiple projects and deadlines
  • attend site visits and client meetings
  • contract administration
  • manage small teams and assistants

Ideal skills and experience:

  • RIBA Parts 1, 2 and 3 qualifications
  • minimum of two years’ experience producing thoughtful and compliant technical/construction packages
  • good experience in contract administration, construction and managing projects on-site
  • proficient in Adobe Creative Suite, Vectorworks and SketchUp
  • structured, punctual and organised
  • passion for sustainability
  • excellent design, communication and digital presentation skills
