Fisher & Paykel is hiring a design development manager to join its team in London.

Full-time, hybrid.

We are seeking a design development manager responsible for developing network relationships with top-tier specifiers, designers, and architects that influence our brand, generating sales growth, and delivering profitable growth in the short and long term in the London area. You will deliver a world-class end-to-end customer experience across all key touchpoints aligned with Fisher & Paykel’s brand.

The role

As the design development manager, you will be at the forefront of engaging with key specifiers, designers, and architects to grow our brand presence and market share. You will develop strategic marketing plans and manage relationships to drive profitable growth.

Main responsibilities

Strategic planning and delivery:

  • plan and execute the marketing design development strategy with key specifiers, ensuring alignment with global goals
  • translate strategic plans into actionable tasks that increase product market share and profitability
  • ensure disciplined and effective execution of plans, including priority changes
  • implement stakeholder management approaches to foster cross-functional collaboration
  • provide regular updates on key specifiers to local and global teams

Design development:

  • understand the key specifier community (kitchen/bathroom designers, interior designers, architects) and their influences
  • manage and cultivate partnerships with key specifiers to leverage Fisher & Paykel’s brand growth
  • ensure seamless and brand-aligned representation across all touchpoints
  • initiate and attend designer and retail events that strengthen relationships and create new opportunities
  • deliver product training tailored to business benefits and competitive advantages
  • manage partnerships with external agencies as needed
  • formulate monthly performance and metric scorecards for key specifiers
  • ensure compliance with regulations and laws governing business activities.

Product and brand ambassador:

  • ensure accurate and complete representation of Fisher & Paykel’s brand and product messaging to all key specifiers
  • maintain and provide accurate product assets for key specifiers
  • act as the design liaison for market channel requirements

Health and safety:

  • ensure personal safety at work and prevent harm to others
  • follow safety instructions and report hazards and incidents in the workplace

Travel:

  • must be able to travel domestically and internationally to meet role requirements
  • flexible to work evenings and weekends as needed.

Qualifications and experience:

  • previous experience in the appliance or building industry, in a design, project management, or sales/marketing role
  • experience working with interior/kitchen designers and architects
  • proven track record of developing strategic partnerships to deliver quality results
  • tertiary qualification in Marketing, Business, or Interior Design preferred, along with relevant design credentials (AKBD, CKD, Leed AP)

Technical skills:

  • commercial acumen: strong understanding of the industry, sales, and marketing
  • comprehensive knowledge of the architect/design industry
  • design: strong creative and technical design skills, ability to read floor plans and elevations, and recommend appliance selection based on design principles
  • customer relationship management: develop and implement effective CRM strategies
  • communication: excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • project management: strong project planning and management experience
  • computer skills: advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and social media applications
  • legislation and compliance: understanding of regulations, privacy legislation and budget administration
