Forbes & Lomax is looking for a UK sales and bespoke services administrator to join its team in London.

Forbes & Lomax are a lightswitch and socket manufacturer who have been supplying luxury light switches and sockets to architects and interior designers around the world since 1987.

They are the pioneers of the Invisible Lightswitch® and operate from their base in Battersea, London. As a luxury brand, we pride ourselves on our excellent customer service and after sales care.

Role overview

The position will suit someone who has exceptional customer service skills and attention to detail and will relish the chance to see how a successful design led company operates. You will be given the opportunity to work with an array of clients, these could include electrical contractors, building contractors, private individuals, interior designers and architects.

Key responsibilities:

  • handling customer queries via email, in person and over the phone
  • meeting and greeting visitors to the showroom
  • raising quotes, handling order payments, processing orders and issuing invoices
  • dealing with couriers and organising the despatch and delivery of goods in a timely fashion
  • advising customers on the possibilities and parameters of bespoke products and liaising with suppliers to gain further information for more complex requests
  • overseeing and managing the creation of bespoke products. From placing the initial purchase orders with suppliers, through to receiving products into stock and checking they have been made and finished in alignment with specifications and company standards
  • opening accounts for new customers, and building and developing client relationships
  • communicating with customers regarding the status of their order and ensuring they are updated on any changes or amendments throughout the process
  • resolve customer queries and issues promptly, ensuring positive customer experiences and repeat business

Skills:

  • excellent computer skills (MS Office including Word and Excel).
    Training will be provided for our in-house order management system
  • ability to produce basic 2D drawings in Auto-CAD that communicate bespoke switch and socket plate designs to customers and suppliers
  • ability to multitask and work in a fast paced environment
  • ability to understand and read floor and lighting plans. (desirable)
  • able to communicate clearly and professionally by email and telephone
  • the ability to plan and prioritise your workload and remain calm under pressure
  • team player who enjoys working with others
