Interior architectectural assistant/junior interior designer

Forward Associates is looking for an interior architectural assistant or junior interior designer to join its team in London.

With the fan at the heart of everything we do, we are a multidisciplinary agency that creates real-world experiences in venues. We are a friendly, people-centric collective with a strong belief in a balanced work-life culture, aiming to offer a highly creative and collaborative environment. This means a blend of remote working and with regular in-person meet-ups and social events.

We have developed the design strategy and interior design for a wide range of venues, both in the UK and abroad. With a particular focus on hospitality areas from fine dining restaurants to suites, social lounges to F&B outlets, our portfolio (click here to see more) includes the new stadium for Everton, the world-leading Tottenham Hotspur stadium and the bars at the immersive ABBA Voyage experience.

We are seeking a creative and enthusiastic new member for our team, with a minimum of a year’s industry experience and a wide range of personal interests outside of the work sphere.

The successful candidate will demonstrate:

  • proficiency with Vectorworks (both 2D and 3D); InDesign, Photoshop and SketchUp would be beneficial but not essential
  • excellent freehand sketching skills
  • fluency in both spoken and written English and good communication and presentation skills
  • a proactive and enthusiastic attitude to work within a team, with the ability to take initiative and work independently when required
  • an ability to assist in the production of technical drawing packages including layout plans, sections and details for bespoke joinery and lighting
  • an ability to produce look and feel mood boards
  • an ability to assist in the research and specify FF&E
