Part 2 architectural assistant

Galmstrup Architects is seeking an experienced architectural assistant to join its studio in London.

We are looking for someone ideally with two to four years’ of experience in practice and a strong interest in cultural projects and masterplanning.


We are a design-led architecture practice specialised in cultural and community projects. Our projects vary in scale and scope from construction of museums, visitor, and community centres to strategic masterplanning of cultural heritage sites as well as entire landscapes.

We work mostly in rural areas and a lot in Scotland.

We are based in Hackney.

We are a small studio where you will be involved in all aspects of the practice and working on projects from concept through to completion.

Skills and experience:

  • poetic design skills and a sensible approach
  • interest in processes and communities
  • proficient in Rhino or similar
  • proficient in the Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign
  • knowledge of Microstation or AutoCAD
  • excellent communication skills in English (written and verbal)
  • good collaborative skills and a teamplayer
  • self-motivated and good time management skills
  • positive and engaged
